Voting Resources for People with Disabilities

2-Minute Read

To ensure people with disabilities have all the necessary information and details in order to cast a vote in the upcoming US presidential election on November 3rd, Galt Foundation has compiled a list of valuable resources for voters with disabilities.
The next presidential election is taking place on Tuesday, November 3rd, and it is important that American citizens exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard.

With election day nearing, Galt Foundation wants to ensure that everyone has the necessary information to be able to vote next month.

Here is a list of valuable resources for US voters with disabilities, including details about registration:

1. Autistic Self Advocacy Network Vote Toolkit

The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism.

Their resources provide assistance with registering to vote, plus additional links where you can learn more about voting and your ballot.

2. SABE GoVoter Project

Established in 2000 with the goal of encouraging more people with disabilities to vote, the GoVoter project trains self-advocacy groups to more effectively educate people with disabilities on the voting process and surveys voters with disabilities to gain a better understanding of voting barriers and how to resolve them.

At this link, you’ll find a downloadable Voter Education Toolkit, a HelpMeVote Handout, and much more.

3. VOTE411

Created by the League of Women Voters Education Fund, is a “one-stop shop” for election-related information, including ballot details, factual data on election candidates, a polling place locator, voter qualifications, and much more.
