Galt Foundation Expands to Tulsa to Connect Skilled Individuals with Disabilities to Employment Opportunities
May 23, 2018
Galt Foundation, a leading nonprofit staffing organization, is pleased to announce its expansion to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The location is Galt Foundation’s second in the state, joining an office in Oklahoma City that opened its doors in 2001.
Galt Foundation, which connects skilled individuals with disabilities to meaningful and self-sustaining jobs, currently employs approximately 2,500 people in Oklahoma, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. Its employees, who have often faced barriers to employment via traditional paths, are placed in temporary positions at public and private sector organizations in accounting, administrative, food service, general labor, IT, janitorial, light industrial, and a wide range of other disciplines.
“As a social enterprise, Galt Foundation combines a nonprofit heart with a business mind. For 20 years, Galt Foundation has been a pioneer in shifting the way individuals with disabilities are viewed by employers and in the workplace. Our employees have exceptional talents, and our success stems directly from our ability to match them with employers who have talent needs. We see the inclusion of employees with disabilities as an advantage in the workplace,” said Nancy Geenen, Chief Executive Officer of Galt Foundation. “We already employ many individuals in Tulsa, and we look forward to providing many more jobs while at the same time filling a demand for talent.”
Geenen was named to her national leadership role in November 2017. She is charged with driving the growth of Galt Foundation in Oklahoma and nationwide as it strives to empower more people seeking to become self-sufficient through career-building employment. She most recently served as Managing Partner at CompassLys Group, where she provided business strategy advice to women business owners.
Galt Foundation works one-on-one with its employees to understand their unique skills and career goals, and continues to support them once they begin working in the field. They are provided with a benefits package that includes market-based salaries, health insurance options, and flexibility for medical absences.
“Galt Foundation has opened so many doors for me professionally,” said Tiffany Holmes, a former Galt Foundation employee who currently works in a permanent capacity at an employer she connected with through the organization. “Galt has truly changed my life, and will always feel like a family to me.”
“We take the time to really get to know our employees, enabling us to place them in the right jobs with the right organizations where they can add value and thrive,” said Hope Crumley, Oklahoma-based Senior Vice President, Disability Inclusion and Staffing. “Likewise, we cultivate deep relationships with employers to understand their needs and culture. We help them understand how Galt Foundation makes filling temporary positions a fast and easy process and how increased diversity in the workplace can lead to a better environment for all employees. We see tremendous opportunity for growth in Tulsa and are excited to deepen our roots in the community.”
Galt Foundation will hold Open Houses at its new Tulsa office on June 5 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM for current and perspective clients and from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM for current and prospective employees who are interested in learning more about the benefits of working with the organization.
